If you are a complete newbie to the world of website design and management, then
you’ve come to the right place for some clear and concise instructions on how to
build and manage your own space on the Internet.
I created this "how to" section under the
assumption that the reader has zero prior knowledge of how to start the website
construction process, and no experience whatsoever with basic website
development languages such as html and java script.
Although I currently manage accounts through three different
website hosting companies, for the sake of keeping things as simple as possible
I am going to refer to only one domain registrant/hosting company for this
entire lesson -- that being Yahoo. This way you will be able to follow a
specific set of step-by-step instructions complete with
screenshots for each phase. I actually recommend Yahoo to all
newbies as this company features a very user-friendly format and offers many
other perks with even its most basic website hosting packages.
With that being said, here's the first basic step you need to
take to establish a Website through Yahoo...
Just as the heading of this page indicates,
Get a FREE email
box at
www.Yahoo.com.
If you already have a Yahoo email box, you can skip to
STEP TWO.
You will need this FREE e-mail account before you can move on
with all other steps in this "how to" lesson. (This probably goes without saying,
but make sure to write down the email user name and password you establish with
Yahoo and keep it in a safe and handy place.) You can
CLICK HERE to set up that FREE Yahoo e-mail account.
Once you have your FREE Yahoo e-mail account established, you
can access your inbox anytime through
Yahoo's home page. Just click on the "MAIL"
link and it will take you to the login page. The "e-mail" link you will be
looking for when you visit Yahoo's home page is in the upper right corner and has an envelope graphic,
as illustrated in the screenshot below.
Have you got your FREE Yahoo email account set up now?
Great! Then you've taken the very first step toward being your own
Webmaster!
