The website hosting account that you just established with Yahoo in
STEP TWO includes tons of
"potential" email boxes that are specifically
associated with your new domain name (i.e.,
me@my-domain-name.com). It is up to you to set these boxes
up if you want to use them, but don't worry because this process is
also very easy to get through.
Even if you do not care about
setting up new email boxes for your website, this lesson is VERY important since
it shows you how to get to your Website's CONTROL Panel.
Here is how to get to
your Yahoo Website
CONTROL Panel:
1.)
Login to your
FREE Yahoo e-mail box that you set up in
STEP ONE.
(Remember you can always access your e-mail right
through Yahoo's home page.)
2.)
Now, click on the link of your Website address. This is how you'll
access both the e-mail box and control panel associated with that domain.
Since you have just registered a domain name and
established a website hosting account for that domain with Yahoo,
you should now see a blue link for the new email box that's
associated with your domain name. (See screenshot to left.) This link
should be located just above your original free
Yahoo.com e-mail link.
In this particular screenshot you will
notice there are several domain names that appear above my
Yahoo.com email link, but you will only see ONE domain
e-mail link if this is your first website account with Yahoo. Yahoo
allows you to establish multiple website hosting accounts under one
user ID and password, so you can access all of the website accounts
you establish through the same e-mail inbox. As you can see, it
really is quite handy when you're managing multiple Website
accounts.
|
3.) Next, you'll need to click on the "Manage My Services" link.
If you've followed the instructions above, you should now see a page with a blue
underlined "Manage
My Services" link located just beneath the search bar (see
screenshot below). Go ahead to your own account page and click on that link.
|
4.) You should have arrived at your CONTROL PANEL now
(which looks like the screenshot below). Next you will need to click on the
"Email Control Panel" link
listed under the "Go To" menu.

This font SIZE="2">ppage will enable you
to manage all the different aspects of your new domain and website account
with Yahoo, but for now we will just focus on that
"Email Control Panel" link.
Regarding Your Website E-mail Page: The first time you click
on your "Email Control Panel" link, you
will automatically be
taken to a page to set up your very first email box for your domain.
In blank space available, type in the name you want to associate
with that email box.
For example:
admin@MyDomaiName.com
info@MyDomaiName.com
MyName@MyDomaiName.com
(You get the idea!) |
Once you have set up the first e-mail box referred to
above, your "Email Control Panel" page
will look like the next screenshot below:
As you can see in the above image,
you will now have the option of establishing different aliases for
that first domain e-mail box and/or set up new email boxes for other
individuals whom you’d like to grant e-mail privilege (This is
typically done only for individuals within your own family, business
or organization.) The individuals you give those email privileges to will be able to access
their own email box account (associated with your domain), but only
the e-mail box that was set up specifically for them. They will have to
establish their own user name and password to access this email when
they accept your invitation to have the box. (You’ll find it’s all
pretty self-explanatory as the process unwinds.)
