While developing your website, we optimize it so that it will be ready for search engine submission. That's naturally an important (and expected) part of our job as site developers.

Still, much more can (and should) be done by the website owner who wishes to expedite the process of bringing their site up in a search. For instance, having your friends and associates place a link back to your site and advertising your domain with other media outlets (i.e. newspapers, magazines, radio, etc...) are all effective ways to bring more visitors to your website. The more visitor "hits" your site receives each month, the higher it is placed in search engine page ranking.

Another option is to actually pay for your website's link/ad to appear in a "sponsor" ad column on Google, Yahoo or other such search engine companies. This exposes your website to many more potential customers when they use keywords relative to your products or services.
